ACHART is the Chilean Short-Term Rental Association: The trade organization that brings together Chile's short-term rental hosts — created by hosts, for hosts.
We were born at a decisive moment. While Chile's current Co-Ownership Law was being debated, the original draft sought to ban short-term rentals altogether. Had it succeeded, thousands of hosts would have been shut out of their own activity — with no one representing them in that conversation.
Hosts organized and took an active part in the debate. The outcome is written into the law: Article 8, letter j) of Law 21.442 establishes that residential communities may regulate short-term rentals, but may not ban them.
That experience left us with a certainty that remains our reason for being: The decisions that shape our activity are made with or without us at the table.
ACHART exists so that Chile's hosts always have a seat at that table.
